The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology is a research-oriented university that focuses on alternative energy, sustainability and the environment. The durable Geberit Pluvia system was installed for the roof drainage in this building. The university is located in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The architects Foster & Partners placed tge emphasis on flexibility, use of traditional architectural elements and modern materials to provide for an optimized combination of natural lighting and cooling that minimize energy needs both indoors and outdoors.
